VA rating for P100?
I read about the guy who used a UPS to power his system, and really liked the idea. I found a page that allows you to enter a custom VA rating, and they return the cheapest UPS that will support that much power. I know nothing of power, and have no clue how much VA a system uses, or any of the components.
If a hard drive says 250mA/5V (idle) and 500mA/5V (seek), would that be 5 VA for the hard drive? How much do other components take up, such as the motherboard, CPU, sound card, and NIC? My system is a P100 with 32MB of RAM..
The site is here:

Constant Bitrate
I dont know how good it is but you might want to try APC's configurator http://www.apcc.com/template/size/workstation/single/ it does it based on your CPU and a few other things (I guess that your Sound/Network/Whatever else type of cards do not make much difference to them in power consumption or that almost all are about the same ?) or if you know your total load in Watts (not the size of your power supply but the actual load on it you could use their UPS Selector Express http://www.apcc.com/template/size/express/
