the rr has a feature in the ini to wait and restart your usb sound card after hibernation. maybe try that?
i cold boot my pc, so i can't comment on how well it works though.
I've resorted to using my old Creative Soundblaster usb soundcard after not getting the mic/line-in function to work on my VIA pico-itx.
The problem I am having is that after resuming from hibernation, the sound output is really low.
What I mean is is that prior to hibernation, sound output is normal at 50% volume. Once I come out of hibernation, even when I crank the volume to 100%, sound output is less than it was before hibernation with the volume set at 50%.
What I found is that I have to close Winamp/RR, disable and then enable the sound card thru device manager, and restart Winamp/RR to get the normal sound output back.
I've been searching thru the forums about a solution, but the key words are too general.
I've had success using devcon to enable/disable the usb soundcard after resume operations, but it is really annoying have to close and restart everything. Kinda defeats the purpose of using hibernation, y'know?
Anyone have any suggestions to get the usb soundcard to resume back to its previous state?

i've established that any creative external sound card is total crap for carpc application.
ALWAYS have hibernation/resume issue.

Well that's a bust.
This sucks...

prehibernation C:\windows\system32\Killtask.exe /im riderunner.exe /im winamp /f
then resume app..
C:\program files\riderunner\riderunner.exe
and set delay to 10 and restart USBSOUND in rrconfig.. works like a charm.
another issue I had was winamp was auto selecting outwave.dll to soundmapper rather than the SB5.1 when computer resumed because the USB card was'nt ready yet and winamp would not see the SB yet. that's why I chose 10sec delay in RRconfig so winamp wont try play anything until the card became active.
*I HAD same issue with volume on resume though.. before I did above trick, I can say though that you dont have to exit all that to get volume level all you got to do is lower it back to zero in your skin and then increase it. for some reason it unsync's the wave, master volume and winamp's. I have the soundblaster 5.1 external and have posted literally 8 different repliies to other threads with volume issues and all breeds of goofy problems.. I had one issue where the volume would auto 100% no matter what settings I had it on.. thats bad news with 3 amps and my ears. got that one fixed thank god..

I had a similar solution in place that worked described above, but it was not "ideal" for me.
Prehib:
RR is running
Clear playlist and stop playback
Close winamp and disable usb soundcard
Resume:
Set resume delay in RR so that the following can finish:
- enable sound card
- restart winamp
The above operation added another 10 secs. to my resume to music, and I did not like it. Not to mention the additional "pops" of resuming the sound card. I got headaches after so many tests.![]()

I found the solution to the audio setting that resumed the volume to anything but what RR was set at before it goes into hibernation/resume.. apparently the soundblaster USB card remember your settings on the headphone/ surround output seperatly. If you experience the whacky sound levels simply plug in headhpone port and zero it out in control panel within Windows then unplug the headphone again to save the settings do them same for the rear/sub level this will make the card default back to letting other apps control the volume. For example if your audio is set on 40 and you unplug the usb sound card or computer shuts down abruptly then it will default volume 40 everytime computer reboots or resumes..you then got to zero it out on all outputs! Weird.....why they wiould implement that but it's true on USB S.B. 5.1 surround.
Here's whats working perfect for me now about 9sec delay from resume to RR playing music
shutcontrol is no longer handling winamp or RR! Like I mentioned before. It handles the app ConsoLCU.exe (creatives consol for sub/fade control) It closes it on pre-standby, and delays it for 10sec upon starting. I embedded the app inside DFX and when it loads the card isnt recognized yet so it errors as
*unsupported soundcard found* if it dont have delay this is because it triies to resume the app when DFX resumes because it's embedded.. Im working on a commands so it will communicate with consolcu.exe like RR does with winamp then skin some fade and sub sliders.. the thump is annoying!! Im working on a 555 timer and relay to to get around that..

I could be way off base here as I have never used a usb soundcard, however that may change in the very near future. Could X-port not cure your problem by having it stop and re-start the driver upon hibernation resume? It has worked for any usb related resume issue that I have encountered thus far.
