just to start with something simple:
make sure the flat cable is connected properly. When I first installed my screen in the bybyte frame, I actually broke the corner of the glass (including a part of the wire). Hopefully, nothing's broken on yours.
Okay so I have a Bybyte BlackBox N double din Carputer in which I installed a Lilliput eby701 touch screen. I have Windows XP Pro installed. I installed the touch kit 4.7 drivers and windows recognizes the touch controller; however, when i try to calibrate the screen, it doesn't recognize when I touch the screen. I've tapped and held my finger on the little blinking target to calibrate but nothing happens. Is there something I'm missing?

Are you refering the skinny gold cable? It' been a while since I have installed it and when I did, I wasn't sure which side went up or down. I think I put the side with the shiny metal facing up.
yeah...I was referring to the skinny gold cable. Honestly, it's been too long since I did the install that I don't remember which way it should be installed. But I would check if it's in right. Also, if I remember correctly, I think you can do some continuity checks on the leads to make sure none of the wires are broken.
