Im good with flash, but not good with flash. I use a program called Swish Max to do all my flash design. I know it does have scripting capabiliities but I do not know if it is the same as flash's scripting. I really want to do this. I am going to see if I can buy a used gauge cluster and start playing with it.

I also remembered that I have an over head display that shows Distance Till Empty, MPG, and bunch of other stuff. Would be cool to get that into the cluster also, but I think the OBD2 spits that info out anyways so I can add it to the screen.

This d@mn Lexus commercial has made me rethink my whole dash setup. This means even more work! I think this project is going to happen after I get the Car PC working.

I was just thinking of something as I was driving. How would I share the OBD2 device? Basically CF3 will be using it and dash command will be using it. Unless I can skin the OBD2 plugin that CF uses. That would make things easier.

    Yep.

It's not really that much of a secret, it even says the password in the forum description.

http://www.youtube.com/user/zcarcockpit << This would be a good start...

And I'm not sure OBD would really be the way to go.. I'm not sure on the update rate of OBD2, but it might not be 'smooth' enough for good looking guages. I'm thinking a/d modules from the existing guage signals would give better results.

I do not think the Lexus use ODB for this. Lexus, being Honda, probably do it the Japaneese way.

My guess is that the whole console is a mini computer. Why... ODB is not fast enough in any protocols to give the needed information fast enough.
You need a very fast and accurate RPM. EVERY attempt at a speed and RPM display I've seen, have latency, and RPM peaks that if true, would have made the engine explode.

So, unless Honda have come up with a new extremely fast ODB protocol, I do not see this being done with ODB.
