Question Help finding a motherboard for T5800...

    Hi guys,

I was just wondering if anyone could lend some advice to me.

I built a carPC back in 06, and I'm looking for a second go-round now.
I've been away from the environment for a while, and I'm looking for some advice.

    I've sourced a cheap T5800 (Intel Core2Duo mobile CPU, 2MB L2 Cache, 2.0Ghz).
It appears that the chip is a socket-P running at 800Mhz FSB.

I've searched quite extensively, and I'm having trouble locating a reasonable priced mini-ITX motherboard. Any board that supports Core2Duo is either socket M, or states it supports T7xxx or T2xxx series processors. I don't seem to be finding anything that states it supports T5xxx series with socket-P and 800mhz FSB.

There has to be someone out there using a T5800 for a car-PC build?
Any advice, help or guidance would really be appreciated here.
Also, I am on a budget, so the cheaper the better.

    Thanks in advance.

    Edited:
Here are some serial numbers off the chip (if it makes a diff).

    Other info:
I plan to re-use my M2-ATX power supply from my last build, so power is a concern.
I will also have a 120GB 2.5" sata drive, and some sort of slim DVD drive mounted somewhere.
Also, 2 USB ports somehwere for flash drive/keyboard/wireless network, etc... if desired.
and of course the touch screen monitor and GPS antenna.

    Thanks.

So far after days of searching, I have found these that I "think" are compatable.

    MX965GE
    AOpen i965GMT-LA
    Commell LV-679
    Axiomtek SBC86840
    MSI Fuzzy GME965 (MS-9803)

Problem is most don't seem to be in production anymore, so prices are VERY expensive and they are very hard to find.
$230+ range, that is way out of my price range.

This isn't going well, anyone have suggestions on where I can find a cheap board for that processor? Ebay didn't even have anything.

i think you're better off selling the cpu and buy atom330 + ion board for much less and similar performance.

I was under the impression that the C2D would give better performance than the atom?

it will, but its unlikely you'll need it. atom 330 with ion will be more than enough for 99.9% of carpc use. cheaper to buy replacement parts...etc.

    I also have a Core2Duo E6600 65W 2.4Ghz desktop processor.
mini-itx boards are MUCH cheaper and readily available for that processor.

Is this a viable option for a car PC?
If so, would my M2-ATX PS be enough to drive it? I'm guessing it wouldn't.

Logic Supply has a couple under $200:

As for using an E6600, yes that would be fine. According to the specs for the M2-ATX, it should work. But I'd like a little more headroom in a power supply.
