Power switch on my soon to be carputer
hello,
well here's the deal...i riped the computer parts out of my emachine case it's a 366 mhz cyrx not bad for playing mp3s right now...(i have a amd500 chip just need to get a mobo for it
but anyway, like many computers the e-machine came w/ a front mounted push button on/off switch which plugs into the mobo, it's verry short so i don't see a way of mounting the computer in my trunk and being able to turn it on...if i buy another power supply w/ the switch on the supply would i be able to get rid of the push button type of switch? thanks

why not just extend the wires for the factory switch? it would be much easier, and much more economical

You can put this at your computer. It will provide this "momentary switch closure" contact for your PC to boot based on the voltage the board sees.
