i dont think you can take a POORLY ENCODED, let me rephrase, a low quality encode of music and get it clearner its not gonna happen

if you REALLY want optical... we can mod a sc-c1 interface to work the SC-H1
which has optical

i have a sch1 here doesnt make sirius sound any better optically
at least to my ears

I guess I didn't word this very well. I wasn't trying to suggest the signal would improve after the source, I was only hoping that by bypassing the X-fi altogether and using optical cable all the way to the back of the vehicle near the amps and processor, the signal might not suffer as much during it's 10' long trip.
Anyway I have just ordered one of these this morning:

It will be here next week and I will experiment with my current MJS-SCC1 and see what happens. I'll let you know if I am looking for one with opt. out and we can go from there. Thanks.

I know this is an old thread but I thought I would update from where I left off in the above posts. I just purchased the SC-H1 tuner to replace my SC-C1 that died. This helps me when I take the tuner into the house as the SC-H1 has it's own power adapter and my home receiver has optical in so better connectivity there.

The optical-in to the processor in the truck did not work out due to switching optical sources on the processor is manual only.

My main issue is that Centrafuse won't detect the tuner. I get a loud annoying squeal for audio and the channels do not activate in the CF plugin. It works fine in Satamp but not CF. Can anyone shed some light on this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
