    • Output VGA\ VIDEO\ S-VIDEO signal at the same resolution
That's the one I have although it has a different name. It works pretty well all things considered, but as I mentioned earlier is a bit klungy with cables coming from multiple sides.

Agreed there, I dont like to have the adapter to adapter thing, plus taking up 2 USB ports.... but thats what its gonna have to be I guess for now....

The good thing is, I plan to just run a USB cable to a hidden area somewhere to tuck the stuff, and have the single RCA cable coming out of that space to the 2nd monitor.

    Thumbs up

Ok, Proof of concept is a GO! I just received the VGA to composite today in the mail. I hooked it up, turned on the monitor, and what do ya know the second instance of RR with the gauges screen showed up!

The second instance of RR has no plug-ins, and only a single menu.skin, and uses VERY little CPU. The first instance is a standard install, and displayed on the primary monitor. All in all, with music playing, Both instances of RR, and the 3 flash gauges the CPU on the computer is ranging between 3% and 8% on a dual core 1.6Ghz Atom system.

The flash gauges in the screen cap below are just dummy gauges, to fill the skin. The final gauges with be Oil Pressure, Temperature and voltage. The gauge on the left went screwy when resized for some reason.... that doesn't really matter as I will be making 3 new flash gauges to display the info.

The picture was taken in a pretty dark room with my iPhone, so it is not the greatest quality, but does show it all coming together

Actually, I just changed the font to Ariel Bold, and it looks MUCH better. Unfortunately the resolution is degraded going through the VGA to Component conversion process.

Now, I plan to have a couple buttons built into the console next to this second monitor. They will turn the display on and off, as well as cycle through a few different menu screens. The gauges, a weather screen, system information and maybe a couple of others. This screen also has a 12v signal line to switch to input 2, so I will use that for a reverse camera. When the car is put in reverse, the screen will automatically switch to the camera, switch out of reverse, and it goes back to RR.

Designing skins for this is challenging, as it is a VERY non-standard shaped screen!

Here is the gauges screen, showing the area's with the gauges. Note the stretching of the gauges to make them look round when they are stretched out to fit that monitor!
