i hooked my laptop up in the front seat all day today while driving between jobs. i plugged the laptop and some cheap pc speakers into the inverter (i am still waiting for my adapter from pioneer to arrive). everything worked fine, except for one thing...

i have no idea what will happen with power consumption when it is mounted in the trunk. i will hardwire my inverter to the battery, and probably get a shutdown card for it. if the inverter is wiered to the battery, will it continually draw power, or just stop when the shutdown card turns it off? my biggest question is this though. how am i going to turn the thing on? as far as i know, it does not turn back on with the reintroduction of power. i dont want to hack the case apart to get at the power switch.

any ideas on how to get around this, or am i stuck going to the trunk everytime the computer turns off? how have other people with laptops gotten around this?

thanks,

jeremy
