I wansn't really suggesting it for you to use, I was just commenting on the other feature....regulated 12v out. I wonder what the rating on it is.

When you say 12v self powered hub, you mean a powered usb hub that runs off 12v from a wall wart that you could hook up to a regulated 12vdc source instead?

Quote from spec sheet on that USB DC/DC converter:

    USB HUB / DC-DC CONVERTER

    USB Ports
    3

    Voltage In
    6-16VDC

    Voltage Out
    12VDC regulated

    Current Out
    5A maximum

    Size
    6" 3.25" 2"
    (153mm 83mm 51mm)

I've been unsuccessful in finding any sources for the standalone unit.

I think that it'd be really expensive for that datalux unit though.

My USB 2.0 Hub is the DLink. It runs off 5V that I just wired to molex from the PSU.
