    Cassette Adapter Problems

I have been having issues with my cassette adapter in my vehicle. I am actually assuming that it may be a tape deck problem after reading somewhat similar situations to mine. I had no issues until about a week ago where my tape deck would try to rewind and forward the cassette adapter. While "forwarding", the music would play fine, but then it would rewind and cut the sound. I tried a brand new cassette adapter, thinking it might just be the old cassette, but it does the same thing.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

some tape decks had a auto-switch/auto rewind feature that would automatically switch to the second side of the tape when the reel(the 2 wheels) resistance increased-- if your tape adapter is old, it is possible that the wheels are starting to wear out, and have a higher resistance, so the deck is thinking that it is constantly at the end of the tape...

why not switch out the unit for a deck with a aux input?

because tape decks are less attractive to burglars?
