Question roof mount FM antenna for a carpc?

I'm gathering information for a build in which I'd like to put a computer (nav, sat radio, MP3) in my Sentra.
I'd like to incorporate FM/AM radio also, but not by using the stock antenna on my R/F fender (that will be shaved).
I like the "shark fin" antenna in the mp3car store, but that's only for WiFi, GPS, and cellular, correct?
Is there an adapter that will make the ant. work with radio broadcasts?

    Thanks for any help.

No way to make that antenna work well for AM/FM, the frequencies are way too different.

See http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i...-antennas.html for a list of some universal antennas including a couple of shark fin models. I recently used a Metra 44-UA46 that has a 6" flexible whip. The reception wasn't that great even with the built-in amplifier, so I swapped out the whip for an 11" cheapie from Ebay and it works a lot better.

I have no idea if their shark fin models will work better, so good luck!

Maybe I should be looking for a "on glass" antenna as a replacement?

I like the GM look roof mount antenna they have. Probably gonna get one of those when I shave my antenna from off the fender.

Glass mount antennas never work as well as a real antenna on the metal skin of the car.

Is there an antenna I could use for AM/FM that's roof mounted?

Then maybe use a smaller GPS antenna mounted in the dash below the windshield.
