    Motherboards

I was curious as to any info that anyone might know about extremely small motherboards. I am going to put a MP3 Player in a small truck and I am trying to figure out where I'm going to put all of the stuff

you can get the alton m598lmr for about $80 to $85 at a computer show or off pricewatch.com it is an at (has an atx connector) socket 7 with lan, vid, pci sound. just don't plan on non-mmx cyrix cpus in it. don't know about intel or amd non-mmx. all mmx work fine with it. drop in a k6 350 for $40 and you are set. the full atx version should be out there soon.

Well bob if you have a lot of cash you can goto www.advantech.com and by an SBC (single board computer) The thing has everything built into a card that is the size of a 3.5" Hard drive and not nearly as thick. Difenately an option but very pricey. The other good thing about those is they take a single 5v power source not the 12 and 5 liek a regular MB

The only place Advantech lists prices is on an odd 'sample prices' page or something like that. It lists the current prices for 4 or 5 of their products. If you want prices on products not listed there, you need to call or e-mail them.

why bother with a slot 1 system? a crappy cyrix rig with onboard sound and NIC (sorry guys..youre not gonna find a board with coax out so its pointless to invest in onboard video) can be had for well under $100. im talking board, cpu, and ram. then pick yourself up a skinny PCI vcard with tv-out (a lot of the older ATI crap-jobs had this) and trim that baby down to size.
