Looking for Setup Advice/Sanity Check

Hey guys, been a while since I've done this so I want to make sure I'm not about to put together something that's not going to work out. Here is my proposed build:

Case/screen: Derrick's 2-DIN kit
PSU: CarNetix P2140
CPU: Intel Core i3-3220T (unless someone can find me an i5-3570T)
GPU: Ivy Bridge onboard video
SSD: Samsung 830 Series, 128GB
Motherboard: AsRock Z77E-ITX
Memory: 8GB Crucial DDR3/1600
OS: Win7 of some variety, haven't decided 32/64, can always use the other RAM stick elsewhere if 32
Front End is still undecided

Intended uses (in addition to your basic music/video/gps/etc) are gauge monitoring from both OBD-II and PLX devices, possible 720p+ video capture, and maybe even some light games if the onboard graphics can hack it. Let me know what you guys think!

I've been running an Ivy Bridge i5 3570K in the truck for several months now. M2-ATX, Asus P8Z77 and everything runs like a champ. No issues at all. I checked pretty closely before I installed, and the highest power draw I ever saw was 105 watts for a couple of seconds under HEAVY load (encoding HD webcam while playing back HD video). Runs quite a bit cooler than the i5 Sandy Bridge that was in there before.

Wow, even in 110+ weather? What sort of enclosure is it in and what sort of cooling?

What side of town are you from, by the way? :P

Yep. I'm using a standard Mo-co-so Black box case with stock fans and a stock CPU cooler. I have it behind the rear seats in my truck, and I'll admit that the case did get a tad warm once or twice over the summer, but I never had anything in the way of a warning or shutdown from the system. But then again, It's not like I'm out driving all day. 30-45 minutes in the morning and the same in the afternoon for the commute to/from work. I'm out on the far west side of the valley in Summerlin.

Oh, alright. I've since moved, but I lived a few blocks from GV Station on the south side of town for over 10 years. Gotta go where the work takes you, sometimes... the weather alone makes me hate VA.

Anyway, thanks for the info, I think I might add a bit of processor in that case. Is your motherboard the P8Z77-I Deluxe?

That's the one. I have done three builds with that board and really like it. Has just about everything you could ask for. Just be fore-warned that the power board sticks up pretty high, so this will not fit the voom2 or other very low-profile cases.

Quick update, really pleased with the ASUS board. Thanks for recommending that... the Intel Rapid Start is especially damned great.
I basically go from a zero power state to fully resumed and at the desktop, fully functional in about 5 seconds total.

Biggest issues I'm having right now are overscan with my 669 and for some reason this M2 powers the computer on at ignition off and does nothing at ignition on.
