Options for integrating a carputer to aftermarket double-DIN touch-screen stereo?

Hi guys. I'm looking to get great sounding audio in my vehicle and have had great luck with getting the sound I want from Pioneer head units over the years. I'm not sure if I can expect the same quality and EQ adjustments in order to tweak the sound just as good with a carputer.

I was thinking of for my next project installing a double-DIN touch-screen DVD receiver in my dash. What methods might I have for integrating a separate carputer into such a receiver and be able to control everything for the carputer via the touch-screen of the stereo receiver as well as integrate the audio and video of the carputer?

I know something like the X2 Module will allow me to integrate a compatible Android smartphone with a stereo like this, but are their any options for integrating a carputer the same way?? Thanks!

You can get equal or better audio quality from a PC as from a HU. It's definitely more work with the PC solution, but you gain added flexibility to configure your needs. If all you want is a clean audio source, then a HU wins IMO based on ease of install and cost.

As far as using a DD HU to control the CarPC, to my knowledge everything out there in HU is proprietary and you will never be able to access an input on the touchscreen short of adding your own USB touchscreen film.
