Subwoofer sounds like its rattling spare, but its not :(

Hey everyone, ok i put a system in my car about a week or 2 ago, and everything sounded awesome, me and my friend made a box for it, about 4cubic feet, and then we setup all the stuff, 1 rockford fosgate 15" 1200watt max hx2, being pumped by a 700s rockford fosgate amp, i think its 1400max, running at 2 ohm. So we hook it up and everything sounds good in the car(camry, close trunk) but when i open the trunk it sounds like its making my spare tire rattle(btw the box is downfire) but the thing is, it doesnt really sound like its rattling my tire, more like a loud sound like its hitting the tire, well anyways my friend said its nothing and that its rattling it, so i just ignored it, but when i put the bass boost on from the inside, you can hear it like its hitting the tire, so i got annoyed after about 2 weeks and started checking it out, so today i took the sub outta the trunk and hooked it up sitting beside my car, and it sounds the exact same, when i put it loud it sounds like a hard hit, so i dont know what it is...the sub isnt blown, i think its the box that we made isnt sealed, cuz we did make some small....but many small mistakes, anyone have any ideas?
    Thnx everyone, Seabass

Remove the sub from the box.

Look for a crack or weak spots at the joints of the box from inside. The box may be banging against it's own walls.

If everything sounds good in the car, then why are you worrying about it ?

But anyway, something is rattling against something obviously, so look for cracks, etc like tejesh83 said. If you find some, fill them in or use some kind of insulation between the cracks

Also, make sure your sub is only contacting your box on the rim, if the magnet or side is touching anywhere on the box, or is even really close, when it goes loud, it's going to rattle.

Also(again) check around your rim, make sure it's tight all the way around, if it's not you might want to put a gasket on it and tighten the **** out of it.
