Beware of look alikes- EPIA M1000

Just a note of caution -

As I have begun to built my second Car PC system using the popular VIA Epia M1000, It has come to my attention that not only is there a significant difference in the 2 processor types used on this board, but many retailers (some not even intentionally) sell the board without telling the consumer what CPU they use.

The VIA EPIA M1000 has shiped with both the older Ezra and the much improved Nehemiah CPU.

I purchased my board from Server Case

Although it does not specifically state on the website that its the newer CPU type, The sales rep I spoke with on the phone ashured me it was. The board I recieved did not have a Nehemiah CPU.

Hopefully they will make good on the deal... we will see.

    For those looking, I fould
Monarch Computer is selling the Nehemia board .

damn straight. Make sure u ask. It's not even that easy to tell by looking at the box, but you will know when you boot windows, cause it'll say "nehemiah" in the system properties.

Servercase did agree to the refund, and Monarch computer turned out to be located about 30 minutes north of where I live - they have a nice size warehouse, and seem to know there stuff.

In the looking I have done, the Nehemiah is sometime referred to or distinguished as the M10000N. I have only seen it marked as such when both are available. But if its just listed as an M10000, i agree that you should be double checking.
