Right now it's getting its power from the usb, no lights will work, nor will the phidgets. It gets the boards main power from the obd2 port. If you have a 12v power supply, put to the power and negative to the obd2 port input then the board will have full power and the lights will turn on yellow green and orange, blue and red are for rx/tx of the obd2 chip, the middle light is for low power mode of the obd2 chip. Hope this explains it SNO

How likely do you think it'd be to get a board like this working in Android on a device like the Odroid? Be amazing to get TPMS and all that in my android setup that I'm working on.

Well the obd2 uses standard elm 327 so that should carry over. Phidgets have a good amount of android stuff on thier website, The TPMS and PDC do have the code available on robby's original post if someone could use and program with. I believe android does have support for the ft232rl (FTDI) which is what is used on the board. The GPS is just a com port CP210x (Silicon Labs) and outputs standard formats. I say it is doable. SNO

Awesome gives me even more hope that android can fill all my car pc needs! I'm going to be placing an order soon for many of the pieces so I may be interested in ordering a set of your boards especially if I can find some help getting it all to work. If they are still available that is?

They will always be available. Sure Electronics might be getting low on the GPS development board (13 in stock) but they have assured me another batch is coming. I'm just waiting on a fresh batch of TPMS kits Malaysia but everything else is in stock. SNO

I am testing the box under Drive Line but will be adding plugins for Open Mobile.

Once I get that running I will be trying to see if I can help getting Open Mobile running under Linux and getting all of the plugins to work under both Windows and Linux that will.

I hope to also port it to Android if possible but will be down the road. If I get everything running under Linux then they should work just as well under Android.

    Sno:
Thanks for reminding me of that. I will make sure I plug a 12V supply into those pins. I am sure I have one laying around. I haven't had a chance to get my CarPC back up on its source. The source I am using is actually a 19V source from RS. Will 19V be too much for that box?

Please check the pin outs I mentioned above and make sure I have named the pins correctly. I decided to post close up pictures of the box because when it is installed I won't be able to see what they are...

Thank you Sno. Can I assume that this 19 volt supply should work fine with the ODBII stuff? Otherwise I can try passing the 12volts out of the case from the power supply.

Can you tell me where to buy new tire pressure sensors compatible with this kit?

My screen is coming in this week and I am installing new tires on my truck but I need the new sensors so I can make use of them.

Or are they a standard type that anyone carries?

    Thanks!
