    M-ITX and DVD playback

Hey guys, first post here. I migrated over here from [H]ard|Forum. I recently got a new car, 1999 Mustang GT. It came with a radio and seperate cd player. Of course, like almost everybody else, I can't stick with the factory sound. The two spots aren't connected, so I can't go with a double wide reciever. So I decided on building a carputer.

Now, I've been lurking around here for a couple weeks and have noticed a few people using the mitx boards. I have read on [H] and other forums that they don't do too well for dvd playback. I was just wondering what you guys have experienced. Do you use the vga or svideo output? And what about the sound, onboard, or pci card? One more question, do you guys use the one pci slot for anything? If so, what?

    Thanks in advance guys.
    Bob

P.S. when I start construction, I'll be sure to post a worklog here.

The M series do perfectly fine with dvd output, in fact they have a built in hardware decoder.

It depends on the screen waht people use
    vga/svideo/vga

It depends on your ears, some people are more than satisfied with the onboard sound, some add a pci sound card like the audigy, m-audio etc

BTW I'm from [H] too.... same name
