    upgrading ram on comp

alright, i'm thinking of upgrading the ram on my laptop to something reasonable. i have read the maufacter specs on it, and it says that the max ram is 192 with only one slot being open to add more. i've heard though that the max ram can change through the years, so could my max ram be higher, and if so what is it? if 192 is the highest would it be enough for winamp, dvds, games, gps, engine managment software?
    project: built, updating software

A bios update may support more ram.

64mb probably meets minimum system requirements for the applications you're running. But more ram may speed things up if the CPU is not the bottleneck.

you may have 64mb built in, and in that case you would only need 128mb, that's what's on my cpmpaq 1685.
