Advice on a first time build

Hey Folks, I'm a new CarPC Enthusiast and I am wanting to get a couple of pointers and clear up a few things.

I am planning on using the Bybyte BBX-1 Double Din Enclosure http://www.bybyte.com/bbx1.html, To do this I need to remove my Car's head unit (Which I barely use as it is useless)

Now, As i am replacing the head unit, I am left with the question on how to power the 2x rear and 2x front speakers, I know I need an amp, but i'd rather not use a full size one, I've seen a couple of the small ones that can be installed in the car pc case which seems like a good fit, My questions are, is this all I need? And can anyone recommend some decent(ish) cheap amps and / or kits.

Any help and / or recommended product links would be much appreciated.

Not to answer your question but what motherboard do you plan to use? Whatever you do, do NOT use and of the motherboards recommended on the BYBYTE website. I used the VIA NX15000 back in 2010 and it was slow as a snail and has all sorts of issues. I used the green colored amp sold on bybyte and it worked fine and fit in the blackbox.

I went ahead with the E350N-WIN8 From Gigabyte, quite a decent little board

    Good choice for the motherboard.

As for your question, you'll need a M3-ATX power supply and a monitor (I have a used Lilliput EBY701 monitor for sale, PM if interested).

As for the amp it really depends on what kind of car do you have and what kind of power you want, if your car doesn't have a stock AMP and you're happy with the sound quality/power then nearly any full sized AMP is sufficient. You'd need the installation kit for the AMP as well.

Before committing to the M3 (or any DC-DC PSU), I highly recommend comparing the power draw of your PC and peripherals against the output ratings of the M3-ATX. Based on what I see, the M3 is certainly suitable for the PC itself with a hard drive and such, but when you start adding additional USB devices that require power, you might overtax the 5v rail. Remember that AMD CPUs typically draw power from the 5v rail as well.

As for a small amplifier. there are a couple for sale in the MP3Car.com store: 4ch X 30w RMS and 2ch X 25w RMS
    .
Bear in mind that these units require regulated power, which means drawing from the PC's PSU or a separate 12v regulator.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
