FM tuner, antenna for Nexus 7

Hi guys. I want to install a Nexus 7 has my head unit. The problem is that I want FM radio, and the Nexus 7 doesn't have an FM antenna or tuner. I've found potentially 2 solutions to this. I'm wondering if you guys have any opinions or experience with these FM solutions.

1/ Directed HMHD1000I AM/FM/HD Tuner with USB interface
    http://www.amazon.com/Directed-HMHD1.../dp/B008I9PWGW

    2/ USB DVB-T & RTL-SDR Realtek RTL2832U & R820T DVB-T Tuner Receiver

Please let me know if these are suitable options for FM radio on the Nexus 7. Thanks guys!

I only have the directed tuner right now.but I have used the usb ones and found the reception quite poor...the directed however is excellent...I believe I have seen a vidoe of it connected via a serial to usb cable to a tablet and a basic ui to controll it...seemed to work well.the directed tuner is designed for a moving vehicle and uses the standard car Ariel plug I would pick that one.

May want to look into SDR touch. I used it briefly during its early stages and it worked ok.

I went a different route now. I use a sony head unit with a companion app on my phone to handle stereo. You can look in my build thread for more information.

Do you know of any examples, documentation or APIs for the directed tuner? Is this something you have to hack with directshow? I am a programmer so I am looking to control it programatically

Sorry mate i just got the email notification for this...im not a programmers finger nail but i believe the directed hd is just simple serial communication....ie send command...tune up......send command tune down....if it was me i would ask mitch from mjs gadgets about the communication...he might share it...or is it possible to log/monitor the com port that that radio is connected to?
