It is compatible with gen 3 ivy bridge socket g2 45 watts or less so that chip will work. I have the 35 watt 3612qm chip and its identical spec except a bit slower at 2.1-3.1GHz.

If you have a computer store that sells and repairs lots of laptops, you can find that chip in the $200 range used. Lots of people upgrade the ram and CPU and the shops always have them as tested working good pulls for half price. They often end up selling them on ebay.

Yeah I seen one from Australia with a $150AU BIN price... and the guy has 100% positive feedback and is offering return for DOA. That's how I bought mine, and you know the chip is only a year old tops, as that is when they were first released. Only 1 day left and he's got an offer.

That's the way to go! An I7 2.4-3.4Ghz and only 45 watts for $100ish shipped! I found another deal this morning that only has 36 hours left.

This is the Micron equipt Crucial M500 240GB mSATA SSD for $139 w/ promo code EMCYTZT5226 at Newegg.

This drive is small, about 3cm x 5cm in size and screws down to the Jetway motherboard for a vibration free connection.
