    Lightbulb Can you identify this part?

    Can anyone identify the green component in the upper left hand corner of the picture?

    Looks like some sort of power converter. I see transformers and capacitors. It looks like it takes power in through the wires at the top of the pic and sends something else out through the ribbon cable.

    Just a guess.

    It just looks like a plug. Different than the standard "Molex" type computer plugs we are used to seeing with the standard +12v, Neg. Grnd, +5v colored wires. It appears to just be a quick disconnect plug for this device.
    A carputer?!? What in the hell is that?

    what is the board ? is it a lcd controler? or what it looks like it's the power cord from some where it red 12v black ground black also ground then yellow 5v not sure on which voltage is which tho

    It's a laptop power supply similar to the mpja one that a couple people on this board have bought. I agree that it looks like a molex connector, but it looks like the molex connects with something else. Any ideas? I emailed the guy who posted the pictures on his website.. no response as of yet. Prolly busy like the rest of us during the holidays.

    the grean thing with the 4 wires, that attaches to the ribbon wire, it just a connector.
