i dont know if you ll call it a bargain but

tthe moment i saw it i wanted it . All have started some days ago where two things happened at the same time. The first one was that i ve notice ( as we are deep in the spring) some temperatures problems with the car pc while was on load ( vlc 480p mp4 - obd2 program-navigation) the other thing was a need for another pc into the house.

So to tell you the truth i didn't mind at all . havinf an am2 (x2 4000+) and a core 2 duo (t7500) from a laptop i was thinking at that moment that i ll take both of the problems solved easily enough. At that moment i didnt knew that the cpu was a t7500 but a t7400. But it wasn't like this. I got the carpc home for upgrading the cpu and i saw it was a wrong socket. Got my cpus back in their mother mobos and started searching.

After some searching i saw this . Grabbed it like an as*** i am and after the payment i saw something weird about the psu. It doesnt need a 20 pin but only 12v supply. At that moment i started to doupt on the choice i ve made.

So please tell is this thing difficult to power up properly? a psu from a laptop can do the work . and what about the tricks with the autoshutdown that i have in the car. I mean this is going to sit on a desktop but if later on i want to install it in the car would it be easy to power it up there and have some basic power commmands like the m2 and other psu have ?

ps i know it is old core technology but for me it is pretty good for light office and some net and gaming so if i solve the psu easily i would be very happy with this

    be well guys ,
    Pavlos

Thats pretty cheap!! I remember looking at a mini ups...it had duel power inputs and outputted 12v it might solve your shutdown problems...might have been in the mp3car store..this mobo you going to have to treat like a laptop in a car.but im sure there are either mini ups or software to act like one.you shoudnt have any worries as all it really needs is a startup and shutdown signal sent to the mobo at your request (key on and key off) plenty of users here with laptop based carpc's

brilliant idea . i already found this i looked at mp3store too and i think i saw some ( more expensive there ) . on the mp3 i also saw some shutdown controllers.

on the desktop i dont think it would be a problem but i dont think i ll leave my daughter with this for a long time . so there has to be an alternative.

Nice idea . on the mini-box i would prefer it could handle lithium battery too as i have a lot 18650 laying around

I remember reading some posts here with second batteries and thinking of myself "what are these guys doing.? ". They looked too me as spaceships.

    thanks for ur reply .

the mp3store site has a beautifull design. anyway i think that this will do the job but i ll search more when the time comes. Now i have to wait an see what this guy will send me . the concern is the heatsink and it's backplate. to tell the truth it is only the backplate as i am afraid that it might no have one . . anyway i ll wait and see but it is reliefing that there are power solutions for this thing..!
