Usb 3.0 and cold weather issue.

I have the zotac ad10 plus, when it gets below 54' I get hardware error "Reneses usb 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 0096 (Microsoft)". And it won't work until the computer warms up...if it warms up enough...and I reboot the system. This will be even worse because I plan on putting in a SSD disk which won't produce as much heat as the regular disk, so there won't be any warming up pretty much. I'm thinking of getting the zotac ci or ca 320 and I'm wondering if I'll run into the same issue. Or is this simly a common issue with usb 3.0 controllers?

No answer? Nobody has experienced this at all? Ok, then what is the hardware or spec that I should look at to be different so I don't run into this issue again if anyone knows?

man sorry i am not into that . but i was thinking that a way to get trough this is to preheat the chipset that controls the usbs. maybe something like this for a few seconds could do the job

Not sure on the mainboard specs but for car environment you should look at getting an industrial type mainboard... jetway http://www.jetwayipc.com/ or http://www.logicsupply.com/components/motherboards/ the difference will be in the components used that would allow lower operating temps. If you buy just a regular "house type" pc they would not expect your house to be below freezing temps. It is hovering around 0c here and my pc fires right up if it does get below -20 it will need to warm up abit before it starts. I should also mention I have ssd for os and WD black for music and I use those heating pad under that mechanical drive but I only need to run it for like 2 mins and the drive is up to temp running fine. Good luck SNO

I second Jetway. Mine is an industrial rated board and low power too. I have a 35 watt I7 on it so its fast enough. 2nd winter without issue so far. Helps I rarely see freezing weather.

    Ok, thanks all.

@happy_feet, having that in my trunk would scare me. That seems like a sure shot fire starter, on top of a guaranteed component melter.
