    Epiam sound problem.

Well I just hooked up speakers to my Epia M and I am not getting any sound. I tested the speakers on another PC and they worked.

The front head phone jack works though.

I also updated the drivers and made sure the onboard sound was set to Auto in the Bios.

My open PCI slot is not filled.

I think I have to RMA. Anything else I can do first?

By the way mute is not on.

What app did you use to test the sound? Make sure that mute is not on...

Used media player to test and mute was not on.

I used the blue and the green. (Top and middle). The bottom one is red and is the mic.

And like I said the front head phone jack has sound.

    Thanks for the replies

Try just the middle jack in the rear by itself. That's the line out. The manual says, to use 6 channel mode, the OS and app have to support it. Then all three jacks will give output - Line In = Rear L/R, Line Out = Front L/R and MIC = Center/Sub.

What OS are you using and is it set to 4 or 6 channel sound?

I looked into that. Same results. I am using windows XP. I am pretty sure it is a bad board. The RMA was accepted so I am sending it back, Thanks for the help.
