there is a post of someone using 80pin ide cable to go like 20 feet or something like that... look for it
I would like to get a long IDE cable so I can mount my DVD/CDR in my dash, but the computer is under the back seat, I also heard that IDE cables shouldnt be over 18" long and its way more than 18" to the back seat from the dash.
What are some options I have so I can still keep the PC where it is and move the DVD/CDR to the dash. (i dont have friewire). USB 2.0 or something?

Go the usb 2.0 route. Ends up being roughly the same price, anyways.
Sreach for "USB2 to IDE converter" in yahoo or google....they cost about $60.
Do you know if this is USB 2.0? It is a good price!!Originally Posted by captain_jim1
