name of ribbon connector?
ok im trying to extend the cables from the front of my machine and it has a connector that looks like a small ide connector it has 20 hole (10x2). is this the part i need for the connector: http://www.lastar.net/asp/search_dis...fo&value=02166
and then this for cable: http://www.lastar.net/asp/search_dis...fo&value=01278
if im correct in my assumption 36c means there are 36 wire so i would have 16 extra to play with. correct me if im wrong. thanks guys

www.digikey.com or www.mouser.com has those connectors (www.jameco.com and www.jdr.com might too).
Look for the description IDC Ribbon connector (IDC = insulation displacement connector).
Then just buy some ribbon cable that is cheap and zip off only the amount you need.
