    RPM Meter...

Hey everyone, ok well I got a 2001 honda civic DX, and the dx model is the cheapest one you can get. It's a manual and there is no rpm meter. I was wondering where I should buy one and is it hard to hook up, or is it even possible? I want a rpm meter that goes above the mirrors....on that strrip between the front winshield to the drivers side winshield. I know you know what spot im talking about but i just wanted to clear that up. Thanks everyone and appreciate all the help

you can buy tachometers at K-mart. They hook up to one of your ignition leads and have easy instructions in the box.

Note: it may well be illegal to put an instrument on the dash near the A-pillar as you describe (it is in australia) even tho so many ppl do it.

Hey, doesnt the tachometers have to be made expecially for a certain model car...thats why when you search on ebay it will give you the tachometer for a car and year.....i know the kmart one is probably generic and not too good looking so i rather go with a little better quality one....glad to know its possible :-D

they sell aftermarket tachs everywhere, online, auto parts stores, and most will work with almost any car
almost all rpm meters are electrically sensed, not mechanical, that's why they work, they sense off the ignition system

You may want one that's designed for 1 or 2 cylinder(s) since you have direct ignition. Besides why would you want that ticket magnet, wanna race with everyone tach? Arent you putting a computer in your car? why not use OBD-II and hook it up to your computer?
