new setup in 1998 jeep grand cherokee

Ok, so I've been thinking about doing this for a couple of years now... and I stumbled across this site a few months ago... and now I think I'm ready, minus a few details.

First things first. Here's the setup:

VIA EPIA 5000 533 Mhz Eden Processor (onboard Video-out, LAN, Sound)
    128 Megs of PC100 Memory
    20 Gig HDD, CDROM Drive
    Windows XP
    DSCustoms 7" LCD
    Opus 150W DC-DC PSU

    Ok, now the questions:
    1) Does anyone have LCD mounting ideas for a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee... I don't really want to spend the $$ for a custom installation.. so I was thinking about making a hinge-like device, so I could swing the LCD down (would cover the stereo) when the carputer was in use, and flip it up, horizontal over the stereo when I wasn't using it. (using radio, cd player, etc..)... its got dual airbags so that makes mounting it above the glovebox sort of risky, i think.

    2) I plan on powering the LCD from the Opus... but as far as powering the Opus.. I'd like to avoid tapping directly into the electrical system if possible, so I was thinking about taking a cigarette lighter adaptor for an old radar detector, stripping out the wires and using them to power the opus. Does anyone know if those wires can handle the kind of current I'll be drawing? (they seem sort of thin). Incidentally, if I connect the positive lead to the ignition connector on the opus, will it be always on, and if so, I assume i can put another switch in there (between the +12V power and ignition) to use that instead of ignition?
[i assume so - thats what i get from the schematic]

    1) www.digitalww.com, nice in-dash LCDs

2)you can connect the opus to a cigarete adapter the wire should be fine for the epia setup, you can run the LCD off the 12V output from the opus, you can put a switch between the device and the power source. If you run the power from the ignition it will only get power when the ignition is on, sounds like youd want a hot (always on) power source wired to a switch

Good luck. Have fun. It will be hell, but you will enjoy it. And it will be worth it in the end
