    Any advise for this noob?

Hi. I'm a nood on this car PC thing and want some advise from all you experts. I'm starting a car PC project and so far this is my plan.

    Hardware:
    Nehemiah M1000
I wonder if I should use this one vs the M900. Opinions on cost VS ability and space consume?

20GB laptop HD from my old broken laptop
    need bigger?

    512 MB PC2100 memory
big enough for a car MP3 player I guess?

I got this 12V DC 150W PSU from ebay by ituner PW-60
This is a great PSU as I heard from some fellows and used on some ITX cases?

VGA touch screen from digitalww. Forgot the model but it's the newest one.
Any experience with this one guys? How's picture quality, look, bla blabla

    royaltek sapphire GPS reciever.
I heard this is the smallest and most reliable reciever. Any opinions?

USB bluetooth reciever + HBH-60 for voice control on GPS
Already have the HBH-60 for my P800 just wondering if it will work on a PC? I think it should.

    FM modulator
to feed the sound to my deck. I don't want to loose my stock deck cuz it has that steering wheel control and it looks great with the interior.

    Software:
    Media Engine or G-net interface
Which one is better the media engine or the G-net?
    http://www.gnetcanada.com/digitaldash.htm
also, does media engine plays DVD or do I need an external program?

    Destinator.....
This thing rock. Just wondering if I buy the bundle package what kind of GPS mouse do I get?

Thanks very much for all of you who is kind enough to help me. I know I should STFF first but it's a mountain of configs and I can't decide which one works the best. Oh also, I have a c coupe mercedes in case anyone wonders. Thanks once again.

I am in the middle of making a front end using the the same software that G-Net is using. Its pretty simple to create but time consuming. I will release the my version free but if you want to customize it with your graphics, I will charge a small fee. I recommand media engine over G-net's Digital Dash because DD is 40 bucks. Also, try myhtpc (www.myhtpc.net). Thats the front end I use on my aiPC(car computer) now.

I have the 20GB drive. That's more than enough for me for about 10 GB of mp3s and 3-4 movies. I can bring my computer in (it's the size of a small book) to update the music and movies.

hopefully the general version by this weekend. My own specialized version in about two weeks. I have a non ODBII car and I have to manually hook up the automotive controls.

ooh. ooh. I also have another question. How do you hook up the PC straight to the car's speaker system? I'm sure you have to use an amp and what else and care to explain how? Thanks.

Well, ODBII is On Board Diagnostic II. They started that in 1996 Jan. Before that ODB I was used in the cars. ODB II is something you use to monitor the car as well as do other things like opening doors and such if you know how to use it. If you have a post 1995 car, look around for it. There is a connector by your foot somewhere.

As for the speakers, I am going to by pass the stereo and plug in the stereo out from the espressoPC (www.saintsong.com.tw) into an amp. I am going to tie the front L and rear L together and front R and rear R together. SVX already have X overs on the tweeters so it should be ok. I might just have to find a way to get the fader controls running. I am not thinking about that just yet.
