I'm using the via 5000 with the eden 533 Mhz... and when i boot, there are a couple of things that seem to be slowing down the bios to OS transition.
1) it says "Press <ESC> key for network boot options menu" and waits for a few seconds. is there any way to disable this? i've been through the bios settings and found nothing.
2) i get some sort of PXE-61 Media failure message, and then PXE-61 exiting message. don't know what this is either. i can get the specific message if that'll help anyone.
other hardware attached is just the harddrive (WD 13 gig)
any help would be appreciated. thanks.

If you hit the key it says to edit the options (I forget it now.. don't have it hooked up to see) You have the option for it to boot local drives first before trying to do a PXE boot (network boot). The delay is the PXE boot rom trying to find a DHCP server to get an address and info from where to boot from.
I have the same MB and same issue...

well its nice to know i'm not alone... tragic though.
anyway, as per callahan's instructions, i hit the esc key to go to the network options... and you CAN put local drives first. EXCEPT it only holds for that boot. i'll try to get an answer out of VIA and let you guys know.

I have the m10000, I know I had the pxe net boot coming up at one point.
My car is in the shop at the moment, but I know I was abe to disable this option.
