In response to the post about kenwood head units, I have one (a KDC-3011) and I called about the aux input adapters, unfourtunatly for me, I was told that they only work on the high end eXcelon models.

I have an AIWA CDC-X175M CD Receiver. It has a 1/8" input on the front. It sounds great in all respects ( the bass it puts out is unreal )

It's been slightly updated with a newer model CDC-X176M. There's also a CDC-X146M which has less power and no CD changer support ( but if you have an MP3 player a CD changer is silly )

I believe that the only decent decks around that will let you use AUX input are the JVC, Panasonic, Pioneer and Blaupunkt.. all others need to have a CD changer connected as well.. correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am..

One more company that has aux inputs (via an adapter) are the kenwood eXcelon decks.

You don't need a CD changer hooked up to the AIWA for the input the work and the sound is good IMHO

I found a few CD Units that have mini phono jacks for aux input.

The JVC KD-SX940 and KD-SX949 both have a front input for $260 and $275 respectively.

Also the Blaupunkt Miami Beach which is a cheaper model ($200) has a mini phono plug off the back so you can run your wires all hidden.

about the kenwood models, you can get a aux input for them but they only work with models # kdc-6011,8011,9011, and all the excelon models, this adapter that gives you a aux input and control of two changers is model #kca-s210a and it is 19.95 through crutchfield, i have one and it works fine with my 9011 and all you do is hit source a couple of times and there are all 3,500 of my mp3 just waiting to be played,

Also found that the Blaupunkt Nevada and Alaska have an optional harness that gives a male mini plug for input. You could plug that straight into your sound card. I think it is about 1 Meter long. The harness # is 7607897093 and I think can be ordered straight from Blaupunkt or any dealer.
