Create a simple 555 timer and hardwire it or parrallel it to that momentory button. That is prolly the easiest way.
I just got a new (used) desktop and it's an Aptiva. The thing won't turn on when it receives power. you actually have to push the damn switch on the case to get it to go on. And it's a momentary switch. Is there any way to get the comp to powerup without hitting that switch? I just have my inverter switched by the acc line.
Thanks.

There might be an option which is something like :
Power-on when Power applied
This way.. when the PSU get's power it will automatically start the pc...

Using a 555 timer might actually cause the computer to either shut down, or enter a hibernation state (due to a second pulse)
.. you might try using a relay with the switched lead in the normaly closed position wired through the switch such that when the car's electrical system is engaged, the relay switch is in the open position ...
just a thought ...
What is a simple delay circuit that I can build so that it will let the 12 volts through after, say, 2 seconds? That way I can use a relay that will be normally closed and then go to open once it receives the 12 volts.
