you will have to find some way to run a power connector back to you comp. Unless you have an enclosure. An enclosure comes with it's own psu with an on/off switch
OK, I want my comp in the trunk and my DVD in the Dash. The best way I found to make this happen in an ATAPI to USB adapter conected to the Slim ATAPI to STANDARD ATAPI adapter thats already there. Here's the question:
Once I connect the power cable etween the adapters WILL THE USB 2.0 CABLE SUPPLY THE POWER FOR THE DRIVE or will I have to find some way yo run a power connecter all the way back to my comp?

Falcon cr53 w/ via epia m10000. Nokia 3650 blutooth phone.
Better than winamp. Click here for qcd player.
I also have an USB 2.0 interface on my DVD-drive. First of all I used an slim-line -> IDE convertor. I bought a case for an external Drive and used only the interface card. The power for the DVD-drive and interface card is needed beside the USB power. So you have to make 4 extra cables from the comp to the front. You can draw the power from the power cable inside the computer case. It contains +5V -5V -12V +12V.
Then it should work.
By the way you should connect an USB 2.0 device to a USB 1.0 Hub cause the motherboard fails to boot.
