Set up a little macro to run?
Going on the recomendation of this board I purchased a creative infra remote for $15 after shipping. I needed an extra serial port so I had to get a usb one, so theres another $15. after I integrated it into the dash and got it so you cant even see the receiver, I realized that every time I suspend/resume the computer the crappy remote monitoring program has to be re-stated!! what is the point of that?? I always suspend/resume my setup for numerous reasons, one being speed and the other my video card doenst sync good and I have to mess with it every time I bootup. its not the usb device since if I just close the infra monitor program and re-open it, it works. there has to be a solution for this aside from booting up every time. I dont want to have to close and open the program before I start driving, what a pain!!! I would think that people on here using the remote would be suspending/resuming as well, so im sure someone else has encountered this. anyone have an idea/solution?

What program are you using for the IR reciever? A lot of people (myself included) use GIRDER which starts up on powerup and always runs in the background. I use the same remote & reciever with Girder on my desktop and car computer without problems. I don't use the suspend command but I do hibernate without issues.
Just use Girder...and all will be taken care of...
Oh god, you are using the software that came with it !
Bad, Bad
Use girder, you won't regret it.

How functional do you find the creative remote? I was thinking of getting one myself.
Very. Just look at a pic of it and you will see it has most functions anyone could want for a remote. True an ATI Remote Wonder may have more buttons and such but consider the size.Originally Posted by SOBIL
