Wouldn't this be a risky thing to do? Hooking up a direct air source from your A/C into your carputer? I'd think that the possible condensation would be a much greater risk than heat. Perhaps piping the A/C into the trunk itself would be better to allow a gradual temperature drop?

Depending on availability, and the space you have... you could always try to find an old rear A/C unit in a junkyard... many conversion vans have these... but unfourtunately I can assume many get picked up quickly or have many leaks... but its worth a try. Of course if you have too much money to know what's good for yah, you could probably get one from a dealer. Just a suggestion since running a tube seems to be hard. The only problem I see with the fans under the backseat to the trunk is the back of the car usually doesn't get cool enough quick enough, or at all if your A/C really sucks...lol

I'm sure someone out there has a good idea on how to do it... I'm actually really interested in the idea now even though I drive an SUV and dont have a trunk. It could be useful no matter where the computer is just to make sure you don't have any skipping problems... a cool computer is a happy computer!

I would try using a water cooling system and extend the tubes, this way you can hide the tubing and get a decent setup. Just have the radiator of the water cooler in front of one of your AC vents, or you could even put it into one of your AC vents if you wanted to.Also, you may want to add antifreeze to the water. You would also need to make sure that your connections are tight, your tubes won't get squished and your pump has enough power to move the water.

Since I live in florida and with august coming, I need to cool my system quick. Other wise it will cook in the trunk. Since some people are interested in cooling their trunks, this is what i plan to do before my carputer catches fire. (yes i already had one do that).

check it out, see what everyone thinks. Little maintenance though.

    Opinions?

ok i think this is a very bad idea, evaporative cooling works by doing just that, it evaporates water into the air, which makes the air very moist, this can lead to your computer getting moist and we all know what happens then. on the other hand air conditioning take the moisture out of the air, so its perfectly fine to use to cool a computer, i dont know where these ides come from that air conditioning will cause condensation on your computer unless you cool the computer to very cold then turn the air con off there shouldnt be any condensation.

search a race car supplier (pegasusautoracing.com is one) for hose that is used for brake ducting. Comes in 10 ft lengths and is heat proof. But, the stuff I have used is about 2 inches in diameter.
