    Amp Speaker Level Input

Can anyone tell me more about amps for subwoofers that have a speaker level in? Can I just disconnect one of my other speakers and run the input to the amp to power the base, I dont have any unamplified outs.

    Thanks

    Josh

Radio Shack (or any audio place) has Line Out Converters (LOCs) that take speaker level inputs and convert them to line level. They're about $15 at Radio Shack. Mine seems to work fine.

Really? I thought many amps (at least the ones in Crutchfield) have speaker level inputs. Does the thing from radio shack clean up the signal ?

I feel that it is better to use a converter than to use the high level inputs on an amplifier. Some amps that can do this are not as high of quality so you would be better to use a good quality LOC from Scosche or PAC

If you would rather have an amp with high level or need help finding a LOC, e-mail me -

I deal in Car audio and maybe can find you a good deal. I really like this car mp3 thing and want to help any way I can.
