    Which has higher priority? CPU or video?

    In order to play Divx, DVD, and other assorted videos, which does it rely on? I'm asking this because I would rather use a 500mhz AMD K6-2 paired with a Geforce4 Ti4200 128mb DDR (I have both just laying around) than buy a VIA board. I think the best thing to do is just try it out myself and see how it works with my setup, but I'd like to get some other opinions.

    DVD depends on if you have a hardware decoder (video card) or a software (CPU). I think the hardware you have listed should work pretty good. the only downside is it takes up much more space than epia, requires more cooling, and more power. But with a 128mb ddr vid card your video should run pretty good.

    I'm not really worried about that stuff. K6-2's are pretty low power. Mine's passively cooled right now.

    500 mhz might not handle all divx files. I cannot think of any video cards that do divx in hardware. DVD's should be fine so long as you have a hardware decoder.
