    Post simple question - cd changer control

    My factory stereo in my Jeep needs to be replaced. I found one on eBay that has a CD changer control. If I understand correctly, this means that I can possibly use this to get audio into the stereo.
    -Is this correct? If so, what do I need to look for (pin-outs, I think)

    -Is this better sound than I would get from an FM modulator??

    It's been a day and no one has replied which likely means that:

    a) this question has been asked many times before, or

    b) nobody knows.

    I searched both these forums, and Yahoo, but didn't get anywhere. I went to Autotoys.com and found a Changer, but no adapter.

    Please help if you can.

    There are adapters for some head units like Pioneer. You can either buy the adapter or hack into the connector and make it work.

    So it really depends on what head unit you have. maybe if you post what brand and model of head unit you have we can help you more.

    I have a factory radio with CD changer controls and I easily found the adapter at Radio Shack for a CD Changer. You might want to ask them guys if there is an adapter for the stereo you wanna buy.

    If the radio is a pioneer then it is posible to get some audio in someware on this bord there is a picture on witch pins to use ( if you can't find it let me know and i mail it)
    If it's a sony you need the xa-107 to make it work.*** for the rest i don't know.
    Putting the sound in direct is better then with a fm modulator(sounds like a radio stasion instaed of a cd-kwalitie).

    jeez, I'm an idiot. Of course the make would help. I have an Infinity (Gold model I guess you would call it) head unit. It was installed in many Jeep and Chrysler cars in the 90's. The display has gone out, so I was poking around ebay and saw a couple of them. My unit has a single CD slot. There is later model that has capabilities for a CD Changer. I think I missed the one I had my eye on, but this is just like it (without the changer).

    check it out.
