Faster Boot With A Compaq?
I'm building my system on an older Compaq (yea, mistake, but it was free) and was wondering if it is possible to speed up the boot time. The main problem is that the computer waits durring the power-on POST test for what seems forever. Could I remove the partition that has the Compaq diags on it to speed it up? Thanks for the help!

I work on those POS's everyday and I dont think removing that partition would make it any faster I think comcraps just are slow booting anyway. I would try going into setup and seeing if you can set anything that might be able to make it boot faster (LMK what model it is and if we still have any of those laying around work I will take a look at the setup for one and see if they give you any options that could speed up boot time.
