    Post Powering a 4" tft?

I have a 4" tft from parts express. I put a .5amp fuse on the line to keep it from blowing out. I attached the + wire to the cigarette lighter wire and grounded the - to the car. However, this keeps blowing the .5 fuse. Any suggestions on how to power this screen in the car?
I can't use the 12v from the computer because im using a laptop.
    HELP!
    thanks

.5 amps isn't enough power for the screen. Put in a bigger fuse. Also, make sure that the screen is 12v.

Yup the little TV is pulling about 800ma or .8 amps. A one or two amp fuse ought to do it.

The spec sheet that came with the screen says "power source 12v DC 500mA, 7W(max)"
the fuse also blows before i even attach the screen. Is it possible to get 500mA from a car powersupply?
Thanks for your suggestions tho, they're appreciated.

If the fuse blows before you connect the screen, then you have a short somewhere. Check your wiring.

Yea if it's blowing before you connect the screen, then it's shorted for sure. Also, I'd use a 1 amp fuse, the spec sheet may say .5, but I'd give it a little bit of room.
