Yeah, you could do that. It would just take some work.. Try removeing the sheath on your video cable first tho, might be easier.
Im putting my carputer in my car. I have the motherboard in the console and the console shuts fine, but once the display cable is plugged in it sticks too high to shut the console.
So I have a few options, either find a display cable that isnt as tall (the hard plastic at the end of it) or...somehow relocate the display card.
Now this is what i was thinking. If I could take a spare sound card or something, cut the connector that goes into the motherboard off it then solder wires from it to the connector on the display card, then connect the cut off connector into the board and relocate the display card wherever i likethink thatd work?or is there such thing as a lower profile display cable?

No it won't work, and if you don't want to fry your board and video card, I would not attempt it.Originally Posted by SlimJimmy
Video cards are dependent on timing, extending the pci or agp connection beyond spec is a bad idea.

My next generation Front End is right on schedule.
It will be done sometime in the next generation.
I'm a lesbian too.
I am for hire!
Nevermind, I flipped my motherboard upside down and it seems there was enough room for the display cable underneath the console..

If you have a Shuttle FV24 motherboard in perfect working condition for sale, please PM me.
Oh ****, sorry. I gave bad info!!! Yeah, frodo is right. Do not try this, I had thought you ment the video-out, not the PCI socket!!

You can extend the PCI to a point. It's included in the spec. Think how far the signal travels from the chipset to the socket, and how many sockets some boards have. I have an Epia with the soundcard relocated under the motherboard via a 5cm ribbon extender, no problems at all. This is a standard part for rackmount cases which can't even take low profile PCI, and turn the cards right-angles. They call them PCI Riser cards and you can get them various places. Mine's from mycableshop.com
But you found another solution anyway..

Better than winamp. Click here for qcd player.
they have one for AGP cards too, I'm getting one for my Radeon to mount it parallel to the motherboard
