Thread: How do I recognize whether my M10000 has a Nehemiah Core?

The serial number should start with an F if it is a Nehemiah - anything else (eg C ) is an Ezra... (Serial # is on the box and on top of the parallel port).

You're completely right, my fault. I did a quick search but should have searched more thouroughly.

Anyway, I found out that the serial number is not always a correct indicator for the processor type (and that a sticker with a serial number sometimes misses). A better way using the processor id is described in the document: http://www.techcase.de/Nehemiah.doc.

For the dutch audience: I bought my M10000 Nehemia at http://www.alternate.nl for EUR 159,- which is an acceptable price. See: http://www3.alternate.nl/cgi-bin/inf...ocket%20370%20.

the C and F serial number deal isn't always true. I've read about a lot of nehemiah boards that have C serial numbers.

I've done some searching about this as well and haven't come up with much. I checked your two links and they ended up being posts i read over the past few days that don't really offer any info on how to tell the difference.

All that I've found for how to tell have been suggestions to check the S/N (which isn't accurate) and to load windows and look at what processor it registers. I'm still waiting on my IDE adaptors so I can't get the 411 on mine until they come in.

I responded while in one of my classes, i wasnt exactly putting too much thought in it.

Here are some tips:

If you can look on the box itself, there is a white bar code sticker that also says EPIA M10000 followed by on the box itself a "Made In China" slogan , if beside that slogan there is an affixed green sticker -it is an Ezra-T core.

You can ask your retail outlet if they know before you purchase, if they're not sure ask them when they received the board in stock, if it is before April then it is probably then Ezra-T core.

If you have the opportunity to boot up the board then you will see it in the BIOS as Nehemiah.

If they have 2 versions of the EPIA M10000 the Nehemiah version will likely be at least $US 10.00 more expensive.

I will be able to test tonight if the ucode Id is 0691(Nehemiah) or 0689 (Ezra-T). I was hoping theat I would have received the Nehemiah since I ordered this just last week.

thats if you can boot, but then you could have just checked in your os. Which im assuming is not an option?
