Post i think i broke it

Today i tried to boot up my car player and I got that "invalid systems disk" message but, there was no disk in the A drive... I removed the A drive completely from the BIOS (and set it to boot HD only), and i still get that message.... I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.... I personally think that i broke my HD, because, even when i am only booting from hard drive i get that message.
I was just wondering, is my hd bad(it did take a fair jolt yesterday), or is there some way for me to remedy this problem

If you are running Dos/windows95 or 98 do the following:

on another computer with the same OS go into
dos, insert a formated floppy and type

    "sys a:"

    prese enter.

After it is done do a copy of the sys.com program. For dos it will be in C:\dos. For Windows 95/98 it will be in C:\windows\command\.

    i.e. copy c:\windows\command\sys.com a:

Then stick that disk into your mp3 computer. It will then boot to an A:\> prompt. Type:

    "sys c:"

This will redo your boot partition and make it bootable again (hopefully) if the error is not a physical error.

    Cool

Sounds like there could be physical damage to the boot sector of the disk. This is bad. You may be able to boot from a floppy and see the drive, so you can try the SYS.COM trick. However, run a SCANDISK /SURFACE afterwards. If there is any physical damage, just replace the disk.

Of course, your BIOS setting could just be wrong...

on other thing could be the fact that he didn't mount it properly which will result in a phyical damage to the HD.
