Post Mounting LCD to Dash - Won't Stick!

Today I bought some Velcro tape stuff, you know that contains both the "elements" (for lack of a better word), but I can't get the sticky stuff to stick onto the dash. I'm just trying to mount my 4x40 LCD (in project box) on the dash, and don't want to do anything to the dash that can't realistically be undone (like I've thought about putting down just two beads or so of super glue). The dash, by the way, is a molded plastic that heats up a good amount under the sun, which just makes the Velcro tape slide all around. Any ideas?

It will not stick to your dash because over your dash's lifetime sombody has used a protectant(like armor all) on it and that is preventing it from sticking. try cleaning both mounting surfaces with something like windex or alcohol about 3 times each(to make sure its clean) and it should stick better.

No, things generally don't stick to the dash very well. I've tried velcro, superglue, and epoxy. All of them failed within a rather short time.

What I ended up doing was actually screwing the mounting arm (actually a CD player mounting arm) into the dash. This is irreversible, but it's the only thing that worked for me. It's held up for well over a month now and I park my car in the hot sunshine all day.

That is true for the most part, things wont stick to the dash. But if you use a quality double sided tape like #m and clean it VERY good, it will stay depending on how heavy the item is. I have had my cell phone mount stuck right to the vinyl dash for almost a year but its not too heavy.
