Hey russ it's coming along very nicely. I noticed you have VGA and composite, what's hte composite hooked up to? do you use a tank circuit? I've got the same PSU.

there was a defect with the USB2 driver iteration (my opinion) that caused the NX to use a ****load of horsepower. on my dual processor system (the other machine i have an NX on) running the nx with the usb2 driver eats almost all of one processor's power. On the mini itx? my solution: roll back the driver. The original driver supports up to 4.1, which is what I actually have and use.
I picked up the NX last night to replace my Sonica Theatre. The sonica worked most of the time, but just keeped ****ing me off when I would reboot, XP would give me a "usb device not recognized" and I would have to unplug the USB cable and put it back in before it would get it.

Anyway, I installed the NX, updated the firmware and drivers from the website and DVD playback is really bad, I can hear the dvd spin up then spin down, audio is choppy and the video update is every 2 seconds.

With the Sonica, DVD playback was flawless, so I know its the NX. Now the DVD drive is USB 2.0 and not connected thru an external hub, like the NX. I should try using the older drivers. What version of the drivers did you roll back to?

I started from scratch and ONLY installed what was on the CD (no downloads or firmware upgrades). This is the one thing that really ****ed me off about the creative. With the original driver everything is really great, but with the update, unless you've got an entire processor to spare on audio processing, it's crap. Creative should know better.

Is this correct, and do you have pictures of how you did it if it's not what you did.
SO which wire for the 5v? Is it the red wire for the 5v? I have the audigy 2 nx also and wanted to install it correctly. Thanks inadvance.

Ok, I reinstalled the drivers that came on the CD, but I cannot undo the firmware upgrade. DVD playback is better, but not perfect. I didn't notice a 4.1 option in the NX setup, it goes from 4.0 to 5.1.

Wondering if you have a USB DVD player?

Maybe its time to check out the Philips Aurilium. Ugh.

ugh. you're right. i'm using the 4.0 and having my 5 channel amp do the crossover for the sub. I am, however, using 5.1 on my comp in the house with no problems, with the firmware update and usb2 updates... but it's using almost all of the resources on one of the processors in my desktop
