    Infinatek,

Can you email me any info you have on the LCD so I can pick up where you left off? [email protected]

I'll do some searching but if you already have links I might as well start with those....

(Edit) I just noticed that there is no model # posted on eBay. I have no idea what to look for! Also I emailed the guy on Saturday asking if these LCD's were backlit (Does TFT automaticaly mean backlit?) and he hasn't responded. If I can find out the Model # on these bugggers I will find a controller for them.

    (Edit #2)
    DUH.... I found the model#. Sharp LQ9D02C(21)

oh, my bad - There are 2 different links to ebay up there -

One is an 8.4 TFT but has no controlerLCD http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...item=561118564

The other is a 13.6 Dual scan but comes with everything you need - http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=1212126488

I got 2 of the 8.4's I have a miniatx with onboard lcd controler.

Couldn't a person hook this up to a laptop-based system with minimal fuss? Sorry if this seems like a newbie question, but that is what I am. I'm trying to build a system based on a Gateway Solo 9150. Thanks for the help.

Yes, laptops would be better, but are also much more expensive.

There not regular motherboards, you cant usually find them at your local shop, but most are mini-ATX , sometimes called FLEX-ATX boards, or SBC .

They have most everything onboard, video sound, sometimes ethernet . They can be really pricey though. up to 600.00 USD.

I got mine off e-bay, I found a company that sells them though - www.lannerinc.com, check out http://www.lannerinc.com/em-370.htm

The EM-586 boards seem to be pretty popular.
