    Video capture/editing on your PC?!?

I have a new sony miniDV camcorder(DCR-TRV20) and everytime I try using it with Adobe Premier it will show what's playing on the camcorder for about 5 seconds then it freezes. It does the same thing when I use 'Movie Maker' in Windows XP. Has anyone ever done this and can tell me how they did it? I'm pretty sure my computer can handle it; it's a P4 2.4Ghz w/ 512mb of DDR 2700 and a 80gb 7200rpm hard drive.

Just a thought...try doing a full diagnostic on your memory and HDD. I suspect the software is trying to write and then 5 sec later it reach a bad area taking your PC down.
